There was no land of Palestine. This area was under British rule (mandate). There was no Palestinian government, no flag, no rule. No nothing. I don’t want to get into the question of a Palestinian people. It is not relevant. Let’s assume there was one.
Since then – every map here represent an attack on Israel, resulting in a loss that forced Israel to take control over more land to prevent more attacks.
As for the refugees – there are refugees resulting from war all over the world. The all get a temporary comity from the UN that deals with them for a short while until they assimilate in their now locations.
The Palestinians are the only ones that had their comity turned into constant UN organizations that are still working today, decades after they were formed, with no intentions of assimilation. That is combined of course with the disregard to the their condition by the countries that host these refugee camps who will have nothing to do with the Palestinians. I wonder why…
